Approved Support Systems for Sealy/Stearns & Foster Mattresses

Sealy and Stearns & Foster mattresses require approved support systems such as their own foundations or Tempur-Pedic® Flat Foundations and Power Bases. Bed frames must have center support and specific leg counts depending on mattress size. Platform bed frames need slats at least 3 inches wide, spaced no more than 4 inches apart, with proper center support and leg numbers. Using approved systems ensures mattress performance and warranty protection.

The following support systems are approved for use with Sealy and Stearns & Foster mattresses:

  • Sealy or Stearns & Foster Foundation (used on an approved bed frame): The bed frame must include a center support and have a minimum of 5–6 legs for Queen, King, and California King mattresses, and at least 4 legs for Twin and Full mattresses.
  • Tempur-Pedic® Flat Foundation (used on an approved bed frame): The bed frame must include a center support and have a minimum of 5–6 legs for Queen, King, and California King mattresses, and at least 4 legs for Twin and Full mattresses.
