Acceptable Proof of Purchase Hierarchy – Service Help Center

The preferred proof of purchase for warranty claims is the original purchase receipt, which must include retailer name, purchase date, purchaser's name and address, products, and itemized pricing. Acceptable alternatives are a reprinted receipt with the same details, a product registration record only if the receipt was uploaded, or as a last resort, a bank or financing statement showing purchaser name, date, retailer, and total amount. Missing information renders the proof unacceptable.

When reviewing warranty claims, the preferred proof of purchase is the original purchase receipt, as it provides the most complete information needed to verify warranty eligibility.

#1 Original Purchase Receipt (Preferred)

The original receipt should include:

Retailer name
Full date of purchase (MM/DD/YYYY)
Original purchaser's name and address
Product(s) purchased
Itemized pricing

#2 Reprinted Receipt

A reprinted receipt from the retailer is also acceptable, provided it contains the same information required on the original receipt.

#3 Product Registration Record

A product registration record may only be used as proof of purchase if the customer uploaded a copy of their receipt during the registration process.

Important: In most cases, product registrations do not include an uploaded receipt. Registration alone is not sufficient to verify the purchase date, retailer, purchaser information, or warranty coverage details.

#4 Bank or Financing Statement

If a receipt is unavailable, a bank statement or financing statement may be accepted. Because these documents provide limited purchase information, they should only be used when a receipt or reprinted receipt cannot be obtained.

The statement must clearly show:

Original purchaser's name
Full date of purchase (MM/DD/YYYY)
Retailer or place of purchase
Total purchase amount

If any of the required information is missing, the document should be considered unacceptable as proof of purchase.
